rollback

Post by meemoeuk »

hi, last night windows updated and auto restarted my PC.
Textmaker rolledback my save folder 3 days.

I don't know what it is about wordprocessers but i had the same problem with libreoffice. Whenever there's a windows update, there is a danger that wordprocessers and only the wordprocessers go into the folders and rollback your documents.
I'd been a user since the 1980s and never had rollback problems with any IDE or any other type of software. For example after the windows restart this time notepad recovered my latest notes and i hadn't even saved them nor had an auto-save feature running, windows just saves it. It's only the wordprocessors that do this.

Textmaker's .bak file was rollbacked 3 days aswell.
Is there anywhere else that textmaker might have saved my saves and autorecovery file of the last 3 days?

I think the only chance that wordprocessors give you is when they startup they ask 'do you want to recovery your document?' if you click 'no' then its ok. But if you click 'yes' which you are going to do 99% of the time, the wordprocesser will destroy your recent work.

Thank you for reporting this issue. To help prevent data loss, we always recommend manually saving your documents using either the Save button or Ctrl+S shortcut.

To access your file's backup versions:

1. Go to File > Options

2. Select the Backup tab

3. Check the “Folder for file versions” location

You'll find your backup files in this folder.
