Indented lines suddenly appearing

In a large file four text lines have become indented, for no apparent reason, and I cannot get them to return to the left margin. There is nothing in the space to the left of the indented text - no text box or hidden table or object. They are the same "Normal" paragraph style as the text before and after and I can't recall doing anything to have created this anomaly. I'm very confused and any help would be much appreciated.

Have you opened the paragraph style dialogue box for that paragraph to inspect the properties?

I've checked all the paragraph properties and they are the exactly the same as the previous and subsequent paragraphs. They all use "Normal" style. There are no inserted breaks of any kind at this point in the text. The paragraph, marks, tabs and spaces toggle does not show any formatting at this point in the text - just a normal paragraph mark at the start of the paragraph and one at the end plus the normal "dot" marks between words, as would be expected.

The affected paragraph has ten lines of which only lines 3-6 are indented.

This indentation starts at the top of a page (p7 of a 22 page document). When I delete the whole paragraph the indentation remains at this point in the text which suggests to me this is a issue with the set up of that particular page - but I don't know what as I'm not aware of having done anything which would change the page properties.

If I cut and paste the affected paragraph into a new blank file using the same template, the indentations disappear in the new document but remain in the original one. I therefore copied the whole document into a new file using the same template and the problem was solved. So I can carry on, but remain baffled as to why this anomaly occurred in the first place.

Any thoughts would be appreciated in case it happend again.

Just an idea: Could it be that an invisible empty text box sitting on the page pushes the lines to the right? In any case, it would be helpful if we could get an extract of the original document showing the issue.

As far as I can see there is nothing inserted in the space at this point - no hidden text box or object.

I'm unwilling to upload the whole file as it contains personal information. If I cut and paste this section into a new file the problem disappears in the new file so there's no point doing that. I've attached a screen shot of the affected page and though this wont help you analyse the file, page or paragraph properties - though I've checked all these and can see nothing amiss - at least it will enable you to see the problem. I've highlighted the affected paragraph and turned the paragraph marker toggle on.
If you think there may be something in that space and could let me know how I could find out what it might be please do. But as I said, I've not inserted anything at that point.

I'm assuming the file has been corrupted at this point for some reason and that I need to cut and paste the contents of the document into a new file using the same template.

The screen shot illustrates the problem, but without making the file available to us we can't possibly try to figure out what's causing the problem.

As I said, the file contains personal information and I'm not willing to make it available online. Thanks anyway.
As a workaround, I have copied the contents into a new template which solves the anomaly and enables me to continue with my editing. This suggests to me a bug in the original file.
Please consider the matter closed.
