Error reading the file

My laptop's battery died and I couldn't save the document.
When I was able to turn it on again, the file was saved, but now I can't open it.
I get this message "ERROR READING FILE".
Have I lost my work?

Thanks for your post. Please check if you have enabled backup, which you can check by click on ribbon command File | Options | Backup tab | option "Automatically created file versions ("snapshots").

If you have enabled the above option, please check your file in the folder mentioned in the "Folder for file versions".
