snapcraft

Post by almejo »

Hi...

I was wondering if you have plans to distribute the free version of free office as a snap in the snap store. I have learning how to do it and is very simple.

In deed, as I wanted to do learn i did a first version for a snapcraft file to package it. You can see it in https://github.com/almejo/freeoffice-snap

If you have no plans to do it, I'd love to help, but I think that no one can distribute the packages beside you...

So.. I'd like to hear from you... If you have some plans or if you want some help.

Really!?!?!?!

That is great news!

One thing. I registered the name FreeOffice in the store in case you granted me to distribute it. If you need it, if you create the store account, I can ask today to transfer the name to you. I registered it only to help.

I do not office solutions very often in my life, but a lot of people in my family do. I want the experience of try another office to be easy enough for everyone

We are still waiting for any information on this from our development team.

Whenever available, this feature will come with latest SoftMaker Office 2021 only.

Flatpak and AppImage would be Much better..... If I had to pick one...it would be AppImage because its one package one file...no installation required
