Footnotes display

Hi, I kindly ask you if it is possible to display a footnote in two pages,
in order to better fit the principal text on the page; if the footnote is
quite long, something strange happens because the principal text has to
stop in that page (continuing in the next page) but sometimes a lot of
empty space remains between principal text and footnote. At the contrary if
the footnote can be displayed in two pages, the principal text can
continue, avoiding the empty space. I've tried to find some options in
Textmaker but I've failed

There has been an extensive discussion of this issue in the German forum some time ago, but the result is that unfortunately it's not possible, as miguel-c already wrote.
