Currently using Office 2003: WORD is Textmaker compatible?
Hi,
Going from W7 Pro to W10. Have questions below.
Will Softmaker Office run on both OS, ABOVE?
Does TextMaker support Word 2003 bookmarks?
Does TextMaker support "mouse right button" to follow link, rather than Cntrl-Click to follow link?
Regards,
klxdrt

Hi,
1. SoftMaker Office runs on both Windows 7 and 10
2. TextMaker supports Word 2003 bookmarks, but we do not support ranges of bookmarks (a bookmark with a starting and an ending point). The latter will come in the next version.
3. In TextMaker you may right-click and then click on "Go to link"
Feel free to download the trial version of SoftMaker Office 2018 from our website!

Re: Currently using Office 2003: WORD is Textmaker compatible?
miguel-c,
Please help me out as I'm not familiar with this statement:
[do not support ranges of bookmarks (a bookmark with a starting? and an ending point?]
Below are images of the 2 Word.docs & the menus of my Word & Excel menus, can these be re-created SoftMaker Office?
I see SoftMaker Office comes with Thunderbird which I use now.
I would really appreciate it if you can find out if I can install Softmaker Office alongside Office 2003 & Thunderbird currently on my PC's. If I can do this I can really check out and compare both.
Hope this helps.
Regards,
klxdrt

Yes, you may install SoftMaker Office alongside Office 2003.
Regarding the ranges of bookmarks: you can insert a bookmark, but you cannot select a text range and assign a bookmark to it.

miguel-c,
Installed Softmaker office on my desktop & all went quite well, along with a ver of ThunderBird that worked better then the newer ver I had.
Do you know if I can INSTALL the Trial ver on my 2nd PC, a laptop and, and does this apply when I BUY the software?
I will be installing W7 & W10 update, {MS recommends this]. Planning to buy either an Asus or MSI gaming laptops with SS drives.
Do you or the fourm thing will be a problem?
Both YOU & this Fourm have been outstanding in all ways!

Hi, you can install the trial version on as many computers as you wish.
When you buy the software you'll just need to insert the activation code.
Non commercial user: You and the members of your family are entitled to using one license on up to five computers at the same time, as long as these computers belong to the same household.

miguel-c,
All of a sudden some new problems other than SoftMaker were added to my plate, sorry not to get back to you sooner,
Did some more checking out Softmaker, ran into a few quirks that I need to ask your help.
The Thunderbird program imported all my emails, addresses nicely, But I can't rec emails. I'll check further tomorrow.
Having problems using/enabling Rt Click Mouse to activate link. Ive tried it with both Doc & Docx formats. I'll check further tomorrow.
I have the 600 pg manual & will look thru it & see what I can pick up.
Thanks again for all you help.

Can you help me with these questions?
1] SM installed Thunderbird replacing the TB I had on my PC.
What happens to my Orig TB, is it put back in svc when I remove SM? Do I have to re-install?
FYI: I have a csv copy of all my emails & server info.
2] Can I install selected programs in SM, or do I need to install all of them?
Best regards,
klxdrt

1. If you install SoftMaker Office it will not uninstall Thunderbird. If you want your old Thunderbird back you need to install it from the place you downloaded it from. In any case, don't worry... you're email messages, contacts, etc won't be deleted.klxdrt wrote: ↑Tue Oct 29, 2019 6:10 pm miguel-c

2. During installation, select custom installation and you'll be able to select which apps you wish to install.
