If FlexiPDF is open, cannot double click in Windows to open more files

Post by Ticcer »

I just updated to NX 2025 v412.8.8 32-bit today.

If FlexiPDF is not running... If I double click on a PDF in Windows File Explorer, the PDF opens just fine, BUT...

If FlexiPDF is running and I try and open a first PDF or if a PDF is already loaded and I try and open a second PDF by double clicking a PDF file in Windows File Explorer, I get the following error...

"Cannot open PDF file "(Correct name of and path to the PDF file I'm trying to open)"

"File does not exist [CWD:C:\Program Files (x86)\Softmaker\FlexiPDF 2025]"

I've never had this problem before today. I think it might have something to do with Google Drive because If I copy a PDF out of my Google Drive folders on my SSD to say, the SSD root directory, I can open that PDF from Windows File Explorer regardless of whether FlexiPDF is open, has a PDF loaded, or not :-?

Any ideas as to what is happening here?

Cheers

Here's the error message I get when I try and double click on a PDF in Windows File Explorer, when I already have a PDF open in FlexiPDF NX.

Something odd is going on with the reported file paths in the image.

The first PDF already open successfully is at path D:\Google Drive\Personal\Computer\Choice Tel Laptop Repair Problem\Caxton

The second PDF I tried to open by double clicking the file in Windows File Explorer is at path D:\Google Drive\ ...this is the action that is generating the error message in the image.

For some reason, in the first long path of the error message, FlexiPDF is concatenating the 2 different file paths with some Japanese looking characters where the "D:\G..." of the second path starts.

Then it reports that the "File does not exist [CWD:D:\Google Drive\Personal\Computer\Choice Tel Laptop Repair Problem\Caxton]... No sheet, Sherlock!!... that's not the path to the location of the file I just tried to double click to open [-X

Why is FlexiPDF not looking for the 2nd file at the correct path, i.e. D:\Google Drive\?

[EDIT] I can drag n' drop files from my Google Drive folders without issue.... I just can't double click them to open after the FlexiPDF is already open.

We do not have a release date yet for this feature. In the meantime, you can open multiple PDFs using the 'Open' button.
