Incomplete document properties

Post by Woody44 »

About a year ago, I formatted the interior of a book for a friend for publication (in print) through Amazon KDP. Today I happened to be looking at books by another author and Amazon popped up a notice about the book I had worked on. Out of curiosity I clicked on the link and then opened the previews. T my surprise, the text is in a sans serif font -- which is NOT what I used. I've done three books for him as part of a series -- all are set in Crimson. The other two display properly in Amazon's preview.

I wondered if perhaps the Crimson font didn't get embedded in making the PDF. I opened the PDF in FlexiPDF (2022) to check -- and the document properties doesn't provide that information. Checking other PDF editors and readers, I found that Adobe Acrobet, Adobe Reader, and Foxit Reader report what fonts are embedded. FlexiPDF does not, Bluebeam does not, and Lightning PDF does not.

To anyone working with PDF files and trying to troubleshoot issues, this is basic, fundamental information that we need to have. Please add this to the list of must-have features for the next release of FlexiPDF.
