I've read numerous posts regarding the printing of graphics. Very few of my documents have no graphics so the issues are important to me.
I use Fedora 41 and have an Epson WF-7840 Printer with Epson's own cups driver Installed.I also have the same printer setup with a default linux cups driver.
Printing to Postscript output is not for me. Prints Portrait but not Landscape. More often that not Textmaker locks up forcing me to restart it.
Printing to pdf output allows both Portrait and Landscape but drops graphics from the document.... not always all of them but some of them.If i wish to print a particular couple of pages from within a document, this also fails causing printing to stop.
If i print the document to file in pdf output then all the graphics are in place. If I export to pdf all graphics in place. Si if the printing output is pdf then why the hell doesnt it work?
Seems the same issue has been going on unsolved for years. Yes the workaround is to export as pdf and then print the pdf.But why if output is pdf, where is this breaking down between pdf and printer. iIs the pdf output when sent direct to the printer not print ready?
All very frustrating.
Printing Issues Remain
Re: Printing Issues Remain
I've been messing with this problem a little since my original post.
Printing via Postscript output appears fine in Portrait mode with any size paper. However on changing to Landscape, printing simply stops and cannot be restarted. This problem is not overcome my changing any of the printer settings, Landscape or otherwise.
Printing via PDF output prints both Portrait and Landscape except for the Graphics with the exception of JPEG which appears fine. With any other graphics type my only option is to first export the file to a full PDF document and then print that file as would any other pdf.
I have ensured my printer drivers and all system software is up to date. Does any have any suggestions here.

Re: Printing Issues Remain
If printing from a PDF still gives you issues this means one thing: The problem is not TextMaker. I would suggest you to talk to the folks at fedora or check if there is another driver for your printer.
Re: Printing Issues Remain
As I said in my post, printing a PDF file is not a problem. The problem lies in the choice of output from within TextMaker. You've either PDF or POSTSCRIPT output to the printer.
I'll see about different drivers and also try a different printer.
Thank you
