images missing

When I open a pptx in freeoffice presentations, made using powerpoint,
on some slides the images are missing.
looking in detail in the pptx-file (unzipped), the images are there, and the reference is made.
But they do not appear.
when I save this presentation with freeoffice, the images are gone in the zipped pptx.
Strange is that this does not happen on all slides.
