Oddity when opening Textmaker with altered normal.tmvx

Post by Panch »

I altered normal.tmvx minimally, changing only the font from TNRoman to Arial and the size from 10 to 12 pt. Now when I open Textmaker, I initially see a brief view of the original normal.tmvx with TNRoman and 10 pt., and then I see in a moment the altered normal.tmvx with Arial and 12 pt, which remains. I did not choose to create a new template because I did not want to have to choose an alternate template with every new document.
My question is whether this blip is normal behavior, or perhaps the blip indicates that I did not proceed entirely correctly in altering normal.tmvx. I did work with the Softmaker manual in doing this.
If I indeed altered normal.tmvx, then how it is possible that the original version still exists to make a brief appearance when I launch Textmaker? This effect is persistent, not one time. While not very problematic, I find this effect mysterious.

This "blip" likely happens because TextMaker briefly loads a cached version of the old normal.tmvx before applying your updated one. To fix this, ensure you edited the correct template file in the default directory and clear any cached data. Try re-saving the template with your changes and restarting TextMaker. If the issue continues, reinstalling the program might help.
