Product key of Softmaker Office 2021 Standard

I recently got a free product key of Sotmaker Office 2021 Standard from a friend. I used it on my old Windows device, but this device got damaged and couldn’t be used as good as before. So I want to use te product key on other devices at my house, but I don’t know how to remove the current license from my old Windows device? Could you tell me if I just need to uninstall Softmaker Office 2021 Standard from old device and retype it on other devices, please? Or I have to purchase a brand new product key of this version to put it into my new computers?

There are no "free" licenses for SoftMaker Office. When someone purchases SoftMaker Office, per the SoftMaker Office web site, that copy is "Licensed for 5 computers of the same household, or 1 computer of a company or organization"

If your friend purchased Softmaker Office specifically to give to you, the license is in his name and the license key should be valid to install the programs on five computers.

If your friend bought SoftMaker Office for himself, and he has installed it on any of his own computers, then he violated the terms of the license by giving you the license key code.

You can get about 90% of the functionality of SoftMaker office by downloading FreeOffice, and getting an activation key in your own name that's valid for three computers.

To be honest, she ordered a product key of Softmaker Office 2021 Standard for me with my information instead of her because I am not good at online shopping outside my country. So she just helped me to buy a product key of Softmaker Office 2021 Standard with my computer at my house and all information related to me. She also told me about the company’s policy with the key that was the same as you said. I just want to know if there is an option to deactivate my license from my old computer so that I can use it on other 5 computers through my house without any error.

I am not affiliated with SoftMaker in any way but similar questions have arisen in the past. I don't think there is an official policy on this. I have not seen any way to reset your installations counter to zero by formally uninstalling from one computer before installing on another.

If you actually have five computers in your house for which you need the license, you may be able to e-mail customer support to explain your situation and they'll handle it.

And, in case anyone wonders about five computers in one house -- I'm a senior citizen and a widower who lives alone. I currently have in my house three desktop computers running Windows, four laptop computers running Windows, one Windows tablet, and a laptop running Linux LMDE6. I have SoftMaker Office on the ones I use most, and I fill out the rest by installing FreeOffice.
