Just installed to evaluate. Title says is all.
Re: Track changes and comment missing in the Review ribbon
Seems to be a problem with version 2024. In version 2021 these functions are present in the Review ribbon.
Re: Track changes and comment missing in the Review ribbon
Looks like there's more missing. Footnote and Endnote also. Tried installing on another PC with Win 10 instead of Win 11. Same problem.
Looks like version 2024 is still too buggy, and best to stick with 2021 (unless someone from Softmaker can clarify).

Re: Track changes and comment missing in the Review ribbon
Thank you for your post, but this is not a bug or anything missing. FreeOffice have different set of features in 2021 vs. 2024, that's why you are able to see the difference.
You can check the list of features of FreeOffice 2024 here and comparison of FreeOffice vs. SoftMaker Office NX here.
Yes, you can keep FreeOffice 2021 or both, if you want.

Ah, I see, very cunning. Just a couple of days ago the comparison table looked like this (see attachment).
It's going to very tempting for people to stick with 2021 as long as possible. However, for me, I intend to pay for NX anyway.

Shame about the loss of endnotes and footnotes in Free TextMaker 2024. Essential for my writing.
I agree that an explicit comparison between the 2024 and 2021 versions rather than just the "features" page we got a link to would be more helpful. What perhaps would be even more helpful is a list of features that have been lost in the new version.

Re: Track changes and comment missing in the Review ribbon
This probably is because they want to limit functionality of FreeOffice in a way that mirrors SM for Android and avoid futher confusions of why in one version X works and in the other dont. This changes are understandable.paul-b wrote: ↑Fri Jun 28, 2024 6:15 pm Shame about the loss of endnotes and footnotes in Free TextMaker 2024. Essential for my writing.

You can switch to SoftMaker Office for a reasonable fee and have all features unlocked. You can't expect SM to give everything for free.
