Next version of FreeOffice?

Post by Woody44 »

Over the past four or five years I have recommended Softmaker Office and FreeOffice to a number of people. (Some of them even followed my advice!).

Now that Softmaker Office has been upgraded to 2024 ... when is the next upgrade for FreeOffice due, and what will it be called?

Thank you.

And hope that in the version of Free Office 2024 we will find a French grammar checker... :D

Thanks for your post, but we just released SoftMaker Office 2024/NX and next version release of FreeOffice will take time which is still not decided, so please wait.

Or, you can upgrade to SoftMaker Office 2024/NX to enjoy latest premium features.

It's been 7 months since you made that statement - any updates?

Is there a link to a summary of what's new and different in FreeOffice 2024?

I saw that. It doesn't tell anything about what changes were made from FreeOffice 2021.

Does 2024 add any new features that were not in FreeOffice 2021?

Does 2024 improve or change the function of any features that were in FreeOffice 2021?

I have several friends who are using FreeOffice 2021 upon my recommendation. I can't (or won't) suggest that they upgrade unless I can explain to them what they will gain by upgrading.

I would also be interested to see a change log between 2021 and 2024.

Hello,

As I see, there is still no option to save documents in .odf file formats. This "issue" was discussed earlier on few other topics, but still no update on it

ODF support is available in SoftMaker Office. However, is limited. TextMaker read and saves odt, (but only write odt version 1.0). Planmaker can read the forman but no t write it. Presentation can not read or write it. You can not expect FreeOffice to offer a better support than their flagship product.
