Opening Planmaker with specific workbook

In Planmaker 2021, I always opened the program with the default workbook file "Trgtport1.xlsm". How can I get Planmaker 2024 open that workbook file by default?

Thank you for your post. You can follow the same method which you were following for PlanMaker 2021.

Or you can create a shortcut of PlanMaker > Right click on it and select properties > in the target field, add file path and name at the end.

To set PlanMaker 2024 as the default program for opening workbook files, right-click on the file, select "Open With," choose PlanMaker 2024, and tick "Always use this app to open .xlsx files." Alternatively, within PlanMaker, use "Open" and check "Always use this program to open such files.

Target is currently: D:\SoftMaker Office 2024\PlanMaker.exe"
I want to open d:\Excel Workbooks\Trgtport2.pmvx by default but don't see how.

PM shortcut always open the wrong file and calls it "Untitled 1".

Softmaker tech told me to create .pmvx file but that didn't work at all.

Planmaker 2021 was much better at allowing one to save a .pmvx and open it by default but that seems impossible in Planmaker 2024.
Unfortunately, I uninstalled Softmaker 2021 and am stuck with Softmaker 2024.

What is the format of the Targe field?

In Planmaker 2021 I was able to open a workbook by default and save it without having to pick a save folder, but not in Planmaker 2024.

PM2024 shortcut has Target: "d:\Softmaker Office 2024\Planmaker.exe"
and Start In: "d\Excel Workbooks"

I want to open by default the file d:\Excel Workbooks\Trgtport2.xlsm"

or alternatively c:\users\morphy\Documents\Softmaker\Planmaker 2024 templates\Trgtport2.pmvx

Help file does not how explain how to open a file by default.

Thank you for sharing complete details. There are no negative changes in SoftMaker Office 2024 in this regard.

Please follow these steps to achieve this:

Make your template available for PlanMaker:

1. Copy your template file (Trgtport2.pmvx) to the default template folder, i.e., C:\Users\<Username>\Documents\SoftMaker\PlanMaker NX templates\.

OR

1. Click on ribbon command File | Options | tab Files | Change Template folder field to desired folder location, i.e., D:\Excel Workbooks\ in your case.

Set default template:

2. Click on ribbon command File | New.
3. Find your file name Trgtport2 in the template list.
4. Click on that file and click on “Set as default” button.
