TextMaker 2021 (rev S1068.1105) 64bit on Win7 Pro X64
Also occurs in Planmaker. I do not often use Presentations.
Problem: Failing to save changes made to certain settings, primarily Open Existing Documents list (pinned & unpinned). List reflects changes made during current session; such changes are not retained when Textmaker later opened.
Another example: since update to 1068 information window announcing update reoccurs every time Textmaker opens.
Another example: About > Write system information to file yields this error: Error writing system information to file
C:\Users\Me\Documents\SoftMaker\sminfo.txt.
Worked correctly until recently judging by list items retained between sessions.
Started around update to 1066 ( though I am not saying 1066 update caused problem)
Can this be fixed without a complete uninstall / reinstall?
I have several customizations of keystrokes & and ribbon menus I'd not want to lose.

Recent open documents list not saving changes
Re: Recent open documents list not saving changes
Something is preventing our software from saving files into Documents\SoftMaker.
Maybe your antivirus is causing the issue.

Re: Recent open documents list not saving changes
Offline during week of American Thanksgiving holiday.
Just checked replies.
@miguel-c: Win7X64 - Windows defender + Malwarebytes Premium.
Same antivirus setup as before problem occurred, except for updates to these programs.
Could this be some corruption within SMO / SMO registry ?
Is there a 'setting' within Documents/Softmaker that can be deleted & then recreated upon reopening SMO?
Or must I try a complete reinstall?
Thanks for your attention to this problem.

Re: Recent open documents list not saving changes
You can rename the folder Documents/SoftMaker/Settings to Settings-Old
Re: Recent open documents list not saving changes
Thanks for the helpful reply.
I've found the problem and solved the issue triggered by your first reply that 'something' was preventing SMO from saving to settings file.
Checked Documents/Softmaker folder attributes. Was set to read only and hidden. Cleared these attributes for all files in folder.
Updated Document list is being saved and other issues I first mentioned are cleared.
As I mentioned earlier failed save to settings started about five months ago based on file dates in document list.
Know I didn't intentionally change any folder/ file attribute settings in this time & can't think of any app installed that might have inadvertently done so.
Thanks for the observation that led to a solution.

Re: Recent open documents list not saving changes
That was some excellent detective work. I never would have thought of that.
Thanks for posting the solution. It's annoying when people get solutions to obscure problems and then selfishly DON'T share the solution with others who might encounter the same problem.
