text background attribute lost

If you set text format to coloured background, after Save/Reopen this attribute is forgotten.
This failed already in Presentations 2021.

Do you mean that you are setting a text frame background fill? Performing this function does not lose its attributes when saved and re-opened
If it is not text frame background fill, how are you setting text format to coloured background, please?

It's not paragraph frame if you mean this.
Format - Characters ... - Background color (bottom right) - choose a color - OK
background color is displayed in text on slide
Save slide set, exit Presentations
Reopen slide set - background color is gone

Thanks for your post, if you will save the file in native file format e.g. PRDX, the text background feature will work but because PowerPoint don't have this feature, it will not work in PPTX file format.
