Textmaker 2024 Crashes

Post by azguy »

Unfortunately, I am having crashes every five minutes or so when attempting to write a simple letter. I have attached a screenshot of the crash report sent to Apple.

My system is a 2019 Apple iMac 27, with an Intel i9 processor and 64 gigabytes of ram.

The Operating system is MacOS Ventura 13.4.1

The graphic card is a Radeon Pro Vega 48 with 8 gigabytes of ram.

By the way, these crashes are occurring on a fresh installation of MacOS Ventura 13.4.1.

Before I installed Softmaker Office 2024, I booted into Internet Recovery, erased Macintosh HD and installed a fresh copy of MacOS Ventura.

I then downloaded and installed Softmaker Office 2024.

Thanks for reporting this problem with screenshot of crash report, but we are unable to reproduce this problem even after fresh installation of macOS Ventura 13.4.1.

Please let us know if everything was working fine, without crash, before reinstallation of macOS Ventura 13.4.1 ?

Is it TextMaker only in which you are getting these crashes, or crash happening with PlanMaker and Presentations also?

Please also let us know if your Mac is Intel based or ARM based, please share complete details of your Mac.

Softmaker Office had a brand new installation to work with. Before I installed Softmaker Office 2024 I booted into Internet Recovery, erased Macintosh HD I and reinstalled MacOS Ventura 13.4.1.

I then downloaded and installed Softmaker Office 2024.

My system is a 2019 iMac with an Intel i9 processor and 64 gigabytes of ram.

So far I have only had these crashes with TextMaker 2024. PlanMaker appears to be working without issues. (I will know more later today. If I have a problem with PlanMaker 2024 I will update this forum)

I never had this issue with TextMaker 2021. (TextMaker 2021 was erased when I erased my system and installed a fresh copy of MacOS Ventura 13.4.1)

Here is a problem report from this morning:

Thank you for taking a look. I have MS Office but I greatly prefer Softmaker. The 2024 edition has some nice improvements. Unfortunately, I haven't been able to keep it running.

Thanks again to you and your development team. You efforts are much appreciated.

MacOS 13.5 seems to have fixed the crashing issues.

The experimental version of 2024 SoftMaker Office also seems to have cured my crashing issue under MacOS 13.4. - Thank you!

As an experiment, I reinstalled the original SoftMaker Office 2024 after updating to MacOS 13.5. MacOS 13.5 seems to have also cured the crashes.

MacOS 13.5, however, did not cure the File, New Black template issue. The experimental release appears to have fixed this issue. The templates are no longer black squares, they now appear as template icons.

Differences between the experimental version of SoftMaker Office 2024 and the earlier “Official release”.

Operating System MacOS 13.5

The experimental version shows the icons correctly in File, New. (Top)

The earlier official release version does not present the File, New Icons correctly.
