Before the last update (to rev S1066.0605), I was able to paste hyperlinks into a document (using CTRL+C, then CTRL+V) and they would
show in the document exactly as written, ie: https://www.google.com/ (link in blue text and underlined as it should be).
Now, when I use the same procedure, the link (though still underlined and in blue text) shows as a title, ie: Google
I need this back the way it used to be. I do this multiple times a day, every day, and editing every link is NOT an option.
I haven't found any useful info in Help or the user manual.
Does anyone know how to change the default back to the way it used to be?
Copy + Pasting Hyperlinks
Re: Copy + Pasting Hyperlinks
I wasn't able to reproduce the issue. Could you please provide some steps?
Re: Copy + Pasting Hyperlinks
I did provide the steps.
1 - I open a document
2 - I copy a URL from a browser address bar or text on a webpage using CTRL+C
3 - I paste the URL into the document using CTRL+V
4 - In the document, I see GOOGLE instead of https://www.google.com
I want "https://www.google.com" instead of "GOOGLE" to be the default for all hyperlinks in my documents
I don't know how to explain it any better than that.

Re: Copy + Pasting Hyperlinks
Unfortunately, I can't reproduce it. All is OK on my end.
Maybe you have some software that is hijacking your clipboard. See the recording below using screentogif:

It pastes the header of the page when you copy the URI in Microsoft Edge.fig4159 wrote: ↑Wed Jun 14, 2023 9:22 pm Before the last update (to rev S1066.0605), I was able to paste hyperlinks into a document (using CTRL+C, then CTRL+V) and they would

If you want to paste the URI instead of the header you should paste it with "paste unformatted text" tool.
Re: Copy + Pasting Hyperlinks
In fact, MS Edge causes this issue, but not Google Chrome.
So you can use google chrome or paste as unformatted text as suggested above (CTRL+ALT+V)
PS: Same happens in MS Word.

Re: Copy + Pasting Hyperlinks
Thanks, but although I'm using Edge right now, it happens with all my other browsers, too - and I have a LOT of browsers.
Guess I'm switching office programs.

Re: Copy + Pasting Hyperlinks
I use Firefox and could not reproduce the issue. However, when I tried it using Edge -- problems.
Don't switch office programs, switch to Firefox.

Re: Copy + Pasting Hyperlinks
This is not TextMaker's fault. TextMaker uses what you browser puts in the clipboard.
People in this thread have given you instructions how to solve it.

Re: Copy + Pasting Hyperlinks
Microsoft Edge has a setting that allows you to change the format of copied URI.
