When editing long documents, CPU goes to 100% while simply adding a couple of sentences to a paragraph. This I have been able to reproduce with several documents.
I have tried disabling spelling, OpenGL, syllabic separation and so on without any luck. The documents are only text and just with a couple not too complex styles. This issue also affects 2021 (I reported it some time ago and was never addressed).
Steps to reproduce:
1. Open a 100+ pages document (docx or tmdx)
2. Go to any page... lets say 30.
3. Start typing.
CPU will go from 0 to 100 after a couple of letters are typed.
This is not a normal behavior. Editing documents this long or longer in LibreOffice does not cause the CPU tu hit 100%. It in fact does not go beyond 20%.
CPU uses goes to 100%
Re: CPU uses goes to 100%
You can reproduce this with even smaller documents like this one I am attaching here with dummy text.
Notice that in this example there are not even styles applied.

Re: CPU uses goes to 100%
I was able to reproduce a certain delay under Linux and 50% CPU usage on my Ubuntu 22.02 virtual machine.
I reported it to the developers.
Thanks

Re: CPU uses goes to 100%
You are correct, there is also a delay, I forgot to mention that. In 2021 the delay is a bit less noticeable than in 2024 beta.
The CPU uses increases exponentially. The more you type the more its use increases.
