If you are typing a word/phrase in the search bar and make a mistake, you can move the cursor back to the error to make a correction using the arrow keys but you cannot simply click on the error using a mouse. If you have made a search which doesn't reveal what you want, again you cannot use the mouse to move around the search word/phrase to quickly move to a point in your search focus.

I agree with this observation
If you click with mouse onto the word or phrase .... the whole word is highlighted.
Same happens with any attempts with graphics pen
