I am using Ubuntu on an older Surface pro and so need to install a deb64 version. I have tried to install as Deb as per the instructions. However, I am thinking because it is downloading to the download-folder I am not getting the syntax right.
Any one able to send me the syntax of what I should be doing to install?
If I can get this to work, it will make my old Surface Pro much more useful, including Presenter.
I decided to ask again now there is a new beta version.
Thanks
Ubuntu installation
Re: Ubuntu installation
If you have a previous version of Softmaker Office, remove that first.
Open a terminal window and go to your download directory.
Check if the file softmaker-office-nx_1108-01_amd64.deb (latest beta) is there
Then type:
sudo apt install ./softmaker-office-nx_1108-01_amd64.deb
Open a terminal window and go to your download directory.
Check if the file softmaker-office-nx_1108-01_amd64.deb (latest beta) is there
Then type:
sudo apt install ./softmaker-office-nx_1108-01_amd64.deb

Re: Ubuntu installation
Thanks for your help. I do not seem to be able to get a copy of the 1108 version only 1107 seems to be able to download. I have not downloaded as I was hoping 1108 would appear. I have a version of the standard software - did you mean I should uninstall that? I thought both could co-exist?

Re: Ubuntu installation
./ works only if you have the .deb file in the current folder. Else you need to replace it with the path to the downloaded .deb file.
