Hi,
a few days ago i installed again the latest Version of FreeOffice 2021 on a new-installed Linux system.
Today i accidentally looked at the files in /usr/local/share/applications and noticed that the *-free21.desktop files were executable. This is i believe not necessary for the desktop menu system to work.
WARN: unnecessarily executable *-free21.desktop files
WARN: unnecessarily executable *-free21.desktop files

Actually, we can't understand your problem. Normally .desktop file can't be an executable file it is simply a shortcut used to launch applications in Linux. Without the .desktop file, your application won’t show up in the Applications menu.

I did try it on Ubuntu 22.04 and can't find your reported problem. Could you explain what exactly you see when you are checking .desktop files?
