Hi,
I'd like to use enclosed alphanumerics (see http://www.alanwood.net/unicode/enclose ... erics.html) in one of my documents. However when copy-pasting the characters from the website, they are not displayed at all and inserting them using the Ctrl-Alt-Shift-X (as described in the manual on page 189), the characters are displayed as whitespace or unknown character (a question mark in a square). It's not a question of the chosen font, as the problem appears with any font and the characters display correctly with the same font e.g. in TextEdit.
Any idea, how enclosed alphanumerics can be used in a TextMaker document.
Thanks in advance

This is quite certainly a font issue as not many fonts contain these characters and what you are describing looks like the replacement mechanism.
Open Insert | Symbol and verify that these characters are really part of the specific font you use.

The same e.g. also happens with ⚠ (U+26A0)

They are not in the symbol list, but, as mentioned, they all display correctly with the same fonts in TextEdit and also LibreOffice (even though they don't appear in their list of symbols). How could this then be a font issue?

Looking at a single font file (e.g. of Candara) with InsideFont indeed doesn't show these glyphs. I still wonder, how other applications can display them
