Freeoffice F1058 wont open pw protected spreadsheet

Good afternoon - hope some-one might be able to help
Earlier today while opening a spreadsheet, a SoftMaker message invited me to update to v F1058.
But it wouldn't then open the spreadsheet after entering the password; it just closed without warning.
I ended up deleting FreeOffice Planmaker, shutting down my system, rebooting, reloading the latest version, but the problem continues.
I can open the file in Libre Office, so all is not completely lost.
Non-protected spreadsheets work just fine.
This particular file was quite large (24 columns x 4725 rows), containing data back to 2011, but less than 600kb storage, and until this latest update not had a problem; the file was opened, updated and saved 2 or 3 times daily.

I have been using Planmaker for a good few years, so this is quite worrying.

Any ideas what might have happened, or how to correct?
