Opening files from file manager
Opening files from file manager
Within the last few days, when I open a file from file manager all 3 SoftMaker apps hang trying to open them. I can open files from within the apps just fine.
Re: Opening files from file manager
I've got the same problem in file manger. Also my desktop short cuts to Softmaker files don't work - the program opens but hangs.
Installed PlanMaker 2021 (rev S1054.0924) 64bit PC with Win11 with latest updates. What's happened??

Re: Opening files from file manager
The latest update for Windows 11 from Microsoft happened. It is buggy.
You could consider uninstalling it until they fix it.

Re: Opening files from file manager
I wondered if it was connected to the latest Windows 11 update. That would have been about the right timing. Thank you for the confirmation on that. Hopefully SoftMaker will get that fixed soon.

Re: Opening files from file manager
We cannot reproduce the problem here, but we are still trying to.
Does reinstalling SoftMaker Office help?

Re: Opening files from file manager
If I uninstall SoftMaker and reinstall it, do I just re-enter my product code?

Re: Opening files from file manager
You don't have to do this because the product key is kept during uninstallation and reinstallation.

Re: Opening files from file manager
I uninstalled and then used the link from my original email to reinstall. Was that the right one to use?
TextMaker seems to be opening documents okay but PlanMaker and Presentations are still hanging when I double click a file name from File Manager.

Re: Opening files from file manager
Thanks for trying reinstallation. Please let us know your Windows OS build number which you can check by right click on the Windows start button and then clicking on system.
Please share a screenshot of the windows version details also.

Re: Opening files from file manager
I take it back. TextMaker is not opening documents for me unless opening them directly through TextMaker.
Re: Opening files from file manager
I've been raising this problem for weeks, and said it would become a real problem when the Win11 Beta hit the release channel. That's what's happening now. Sure it's an OS problem in one way, but for me at least it's only the Softmaker apps that have been affected. Shouldn't you at least be talking to Microsoft to see how it can be resolved?
Re: Opening files from file manager
Our team is already working on this problem on high priority but we are still unable to reproduce this problem at our end.
Please try and uninstall the windows update KB5019509 and let us know the result after the system restart.

Re: Opening files from file manager
I have these 2 updates listed for recent. Would I need to undo both of them?
