This handles the use-case where people are looking at a PDF or a print-out of slides and want to jump to a specific slide on a page.

As a presentation viewer, I need to understand how far through the presentation I am, so I can pace my learning.

A possible implementation of this would be the ability to add a total number of slides into the foot as well, like...

Can this be done? Where can I learn more about the available expressions that can be included in the Master Page areas?

Thanks for your post. Customized expressions are not currently available. After activation of the master slide, please click on the ribbon command Insert | Header/Footer and you will able to find the available options there.
