I wish I know how to activate the feature to make an editable .pdf file

Thanks for your post, but editing of PDF files or making editable PDF file is not possible in TextMaker. For this you will need our another excellent PDF editor product which is FlexiPDF.

If you want to export your file as PDF files in TextMaker, please click on ribbon command File | group Document | PDF export.

In the PDF export dialog, tab "Preferences", you may check the option “Include TextMaker document". This makes the exported PDF editable in TextMaker.
