Besides the decrepit Apache OpenOffice, this is the only office suite I've tried that doesn't support emoji's yet. They display as squares or as random Chinese characters. On the iOS version you can't open the emoji keyboard at all.
Besides the built-in emoji font from Apple, Microsoft or Google, you can also display emoji's with the open source Twemoji or OpenMoji fonts, or the commercial JoyPixels font.
Twemoji is used by this very forum
For ease of entering emoji's, you could put an emoji picker under the "Insert" tab next to the special characters button.
Touch Bar support would be nice too for people who have a MacBook Pro.
But that's not essential, as you can also just copy and paste emoji's into your document. I consider being able to display emoji's properly essential however.
An emoji like can completely change the meaning of a sentence, so not rendering them can cause misunderstandings.

Thanks for the suggestion. I have forwarded this improvement suggestion to our product management.
Re: Emoji support
Disappointed that SoftMaker Office 2024 still does not implement this.
Re: Emoji support
We have implemented many new and advanced features in SoftMaker Office 2024.
I have already forwarded this improvement suggestion, so please allow us some more time.

Re: Emoji support
To the Softmaker devs, you really need to know this:
I have just tried to use TextMaker for iPad for the first time. Unfortunately, the inability to render emoji is a total dealbreaker and so I won’t be using it again. I badly need an alternative to Pages on the iPad (which is basically no more than a document reader with very limited editing capabilities), that I don’t have to pay a ridiculous price for. But Textmaker is clearly not it.
I have just written one of the most difficult letters I have had to write in my life. It took me weeks as I fought through overwhelming anxiety, but last night finally finished it. Crucial to getting the tone of the letter absolutely right was one little emoji. I wrote this letter in MS Word for Mac, but when I opened it to proofread it once more this morning in TextMaker on the iPad, all I got where the emoji was supposed to be was a Chinese character. Emoji are no longer just a gimmick (if they ever were). Like punctuation, they are an integral part of written language for hundreds of millions, if not billions of people in the world today. You really do need to fix this in order to bring SoftMaker into the 21st century.
