CTRL+fullstop faulty

Post by Klaas Vaak »

Since the last service pack keyboard shortcut does not work properly.

I have a cell formatted as YYYY-MM-DD, but when I use

Code: Select all

CTRL+fullstop
to fill in the date I get YY-MM-DD.
In other words, instead of getting 2022-05-20 I get 22-05-20.

I have tested this on an existing sheet and on a completely new sheet.

I am on MacOS 10.14.6 and am using FreeOffice 2021.

Thanks for posting your problem, but we are unable to reproduce this problem. Please share a sample file in which you are getting this problem, preferably a screen recording also.

@Supertech: I also have FreeOffice installed on 2 Linux machines, and the problem does not occur on those. It only occurs on my Mac, and only since the last service pack.

@Supertech: there is no file to supply. If you just open a new file, which is what I did for the screen recording, and you do CTRL + full stop, it happens.

Note that this is on a Mac. I have noticed that it works fine on Linux - no info on Windows, which does not interest me because I don't use Windows.

I have already tried it and everything is working fine. Please check the screen recording for your reference:

Thank you for your feedback.
Once again I tried it, but the problem is still there.

I also made a GIF with my settings exactly the same as yours, but it does not make any difference.
I don't know how I can add a GIF to a comment here (perhaps you can let me know), but for now I have sent it to forum[at]softmaker.de.

Thanks for trying. But we haven't received any email from you with screen recording. While replying, you can click on the "Attachments" button and attach the file here.

Please completely uninstall FreeOffice 2021, restart Mac, install it again and then try again.

Thanks for your feedback.

I did exactly what you told me to do: uninstall Freeoffice entirely (I made sure there were no bits left in ~/Library), then closed down my computer, restarted it, but the problem is still there.

I guess there is something at my end that causes it after installing the last upgrade package, so I'll have to live with it.
FYI, I have attached the GIF here.

@Supertech: I have attached the sminfo.txt file.

Like I said in one of my replies above, there is no file to supply, the issue happens if I open an existing file or create an entirely new one.
