Odd copying of text in TM v. Word

Noticed an odd issue with TextMaker when importing a .doc file.
The city in the document in Word is spelled correctly.
If I open in TextMaker it messes with the city name and seems to repeat the last part of it.
I have noticed before that TextMaker throws text in a word document that is not in the original.
What is causing this?
