I have spreadsheet with several fields formatted as Currency, 2 decimal places and the Thousands Separator box is checked. If I type in value such as 123456.78 is displays as $123,456.78. However if I paste a value that I have copied from another source, such as a web page, the thousands separator is missing i.e. $123456.78. If I display the cell properties it is still defied as Currency, 2 decimal places, but the Thousands Separator box is no longer checked. Once I check it, the separator appears.
It doesn’t matter whether I paste the value into the data cell or the input field.
Is this a bug or am I doing something wrong?
I’m running FreeOffice 2021 on Windows 11.
Missing Thousands separator
Re: Missing Thousands separator
To paste the values in the cell format, please copy the numbers only without $ sign, double-click on the cell to enter into cell edit mode and then paste. This way you will get the thousand separator also.
