I'm compiling a list of small and not so small annoyances that I have with SMO2021 as I keep using it, especially with the Linux version. Feel free to add more (I'm not affiliated with SoftMaker in any way).
general, from biggest to smallest:
- No equation editor
- No grammar check except German
- windows-style file dialog box, not compatible with freedesktop virtual filesystems
- inconsistent antialasing of fonts (longstanding and quite universal in Linux, to be honest)
- cannot use "global" menu, i.e. mac-osx style menu as in old Unity or KDE with menubar Window AppMenu or Gnome appmenu (although the support for this feature is getting less common in LInux in general)
- Cannot do super-script or subscript text in presentation
- Does not open open-document presentation format
