UI Scaling gone haywire
UI under Windows 10 on 4k monitor is tiny, no matter what I chose in Windows under "compatibility." In Textmaker under Windows there is no option under Appearance / User Interface to change the size of the interface, except for activiating Touch Mode. that increases the size of UI fonts but not the size of the menu fonts.

Please share a screenshot of your windows and sminfo file (which you can generate by clicking on '?' > About > Write system information.) for better understanding of your problem.

(As you are using Windows 10, I am moving these posts from Linux forum to Windows.)
Thanks for sharing the screenshot with sminfo. As per screenshot, the font is already larger than normal. The menu font size is controlled by Windows settings, so please check what font size you are getting in other applications.
Ideally, post a screenshot comparing TextMaker's font size with that of other applications, so that we get an idea what you are expecting.
You can also configure Windows text font size from Start > Settings > Ease of Access > Display.
