SMO 2021 Pro Won't Update

Greetings,

I just installed SMO 2021 Pro that I had purchased months ago. Seemingly all went swimmingly. It was only when I attempted to make sure that I was running the latest version/revision of SMO 2021 Pro that I encountered difficulties.

As you will observe from the screen capture, I am not running the latest version of SMO 2021 Pro yet SMO 2021 Pro will not download and install a newer version. Is it significant that SMO 2018 Pro was already installed on my computer and remains installed? Thoughts?

In case it matters:
1. I installed SMO 2021 Pro on a laptop running Windows 7 Pro.
2. I've been having an odd problem whereby my laptop won't "Restore to an earlier time [restore point]" nor successfully install MS Edge or (I think) other Windows updates, however it is otherwise running swell (AFAIK).
3. I tried Control Panel's Programs and Features' "repair" option which, of course, did no good whatsoever.
4. I am typing this even as I'm attempting to "Check for [SMO 2021 Pro] Updates", "Check Now", so if you can read this then SMO 2021 should be able to connect to the internet (one would think). Just to be sure (or at least slightly more sure), I disabled my antivirus software whilst again trying to update SMO 2021.

I too have this problem. My current version is 1020.0909, and there is an update available on the website (1022), but when I 'Check for updates' I am informed 'No updates have been found for SoftMaker Office'.

Running 'SoftMakerUpdaterTool.exe' manually informs me that 'All files are up to date'.

How can I get the most recent version?

I too have this problem.

Current version is 1020.0909 SoftMaker Professional 2021, and there is a 1022 update available on the SM website.
When I 'Check for updates' I am informed 'No updates have been found for SoftMaker Office'.

Also, running 'SoftMakerUpdaterTool.exe' manually informs me that 'All files are up to date'.

How do we get the 1022 Update ?

ALSO, the SM website page :https://www.softmaker.com/en/servicepacks

strongly implies that we users can manually download the Update Service Pack, but no method or link is found on that website page.

Same here with the Service pack. Now I have just downloaded the whole program and installed it. Now it is updated to the 1022.

If you download the full SM Pro program, and it delivers the 1022 Update to you, it does not affect your current files, that is to say that a re-install does not affect or damage your current SM files ?

If so, then I will download, or re-download, SM 2021 Professional and simply let it re-install itself.

I had no problems of any kind. It updated it and all settings stayed the same, including the pinned and recent file list.

Dear Mr. Rotello, et al.,

To unofficially answer your questions about updating SMO, previously updates were manually downloaded and installed at one's leisure. Now the normal way of updating SMO is automagically, though I think Softmaker can provide a link to manually download to an update if asked. Personally I liked the old, manual method -- or at least the option of using the old manual method -- better as it allowed one to archive a copy of the update "just in case." But one can't please everybody.

As the update problem seems widespread, I'm sure the issue will receive prompt and serious attention. Unless you or anyone else has an urgent need for the update, I'd suggest considering my tact: patience bordering on sloth.

Has there been any progress on this?

I had to update to 1022 and 1024 (Windows 10) by uninstalling the previous revision and doing a full install. Now 1024 also insists there are no updates available - despite the website displaying a service pack for revision 1026 (but still offering no way to manually download it).

I realise I could download/install the full version of 1026, but it's a real pain having to do it that way when it should be automatic.

I tried the automatic update using "Check for updates" on 27 Jan after your message and it didn't work either. I just tried it again now by using "Check for updates" and it worked. It is now Revision 1028.

Well - after several previous failed attempts over the last few weeks - I tried it this morning and it worked! I too am now at Revision 28. Fantastic.
