HI,
I have a main sheet of subjects all of which are links to other workbooks. On the same page I have to enter the date last visited.
Is it possible to click on a link and the software update a field with today's date and time. Without code?
worksheet action from a link activation?

Re: worksheet action from a link activation?
Without code, the only option is the use of the Now() function and then change the number format to Date and time so that whenever you will open the file the date and time will refresh. If you want to store this value in any column then you have to copy and paste Special > formatted text.
Thanks
Thanks
Re: worksheet action from a link activation?
Hi Supertech
Think I may have mis asked the question.
the links are in B2:B50 however the dates are in D2:D20
So I would be changing only data in the D range but pressing the B range.
Hope that makes sense..
I have a feeling I will have to some how write some code, but no idea how I would use it on the B range Hyperlink.
Maybe just leave it as manual if it's too complex.

Re: worksheet action from a link activation?
Hi rather than make it too complex with all my files I've knocked up a quick three file text as attached in a zip.
Hope it makes sense
Using the MyMainWorksheet as the main entry workbook.

Thanks for sharing the files. I have checked them and found that without using coding this task is not possible.

Supertech,
thanks for that, I'll follow my other line of enquiry and use the BasicMaker idea.
Might take a while, but lockdown being what it is
