Unable to use Alt codes?

Post by swarfendor437 »

Hi, I prepare a lot of Maths for Braille Transcription - this requires the correct signs to be interpreted by Braille Translation software and I can't get Alt Codes to Work - is this only available for the Windows version of TextMaker 2021 (if at all?) :?:

It's not about TextMaker or SoftMaker Office but Alt codes don't work in Linux at all. For Linux, you can use the Ctrl+Shift+U method.

Steps to use Ctrl+Shift+U method:
1. Hold down Left Ctrl + Shift + U keys (at the same time). Bubbled u should appear.
2. Release the keys.
3. Enter the Unicode symbol's hex code. Enter the hexadecimal code of symbol you want to type. For example, try 266A to get ♪.
4. Press [Space] key.

Unicode numbers and Unicode hex codes are two different numbers. So, please use it accordingly.

Thanks

Many thanks. I will look on line for the codes I need. :D

Update - resolved this as either the bubble did not appear (could be keyboard issue) or text got underlined:
