Textmaker process using 6GB memory and getting killed by OOM

Post by mgrinsven »

Just had Textmaker being killed by OOM because it was using 6GB of memeory:

Code: Select all

Jun 20 18:53:34 elitebook kernel: [27930.905797] Out of memory: Killed process 3872 (textmaker) total-vm:6642092kB, anon-rss:5477656kB, file-rss:0kB, shmem-rss:8436kB, UID:1000 pgtables:12224kB oom_score_adj:0
Jun 20 18:53:34 elitebook kernel: [27931.234331] oom_reaper: reaped process 3872 (textmaker), now anon-rss:0kB, file-rss:0kB, shmem-rss:8436kB

The document that was loaded contains only 3.5 pages of text with 2 small pictures. The file size of that document is 81.9 KB. The document does contain citations using the Zotero plug-in and i managed to add the bibliography without Textmaker crashing or using 100% CPU.
Don't know if it was related, but there is definitely some memory leaking going on there...
