Copying multiplication sign from symbol set changes

Exactly the same font in both documents?

Sussed it - it is because the multiplication sign is in Symbol font - if you copy into Arial document it puts that font's equivalent Alt Code symbol there.
Your post gave me the answer, plus I have been working on more Maths today within a document created by myself and if you create anything from the Symbol set will get overwritten if you apply the chosen font of the document.
