Does Softmaker Office follow this specification? When can I use document embedding
The brief answer:
If an application follows the rules and restrictions defined in the OpenType or TrueType specification, you can use it to embed Windows supplied fonts in any document file it creates. For example, Microsoft Word follows the rules and restrictions, so you can use Word to create documents (such as Word document files and PDFs) that include embedded fonts.

When you export to PDF, you can choose from:
1. Do not embed fonts (not recommended)
2. Embed allowed fonts
3. Embed all fonts
2. creates PDF files you can give to others because it embeds only those fonts where the font foundry has declared they may be embedded.
3. creates PDF files you can create for yourself but not give to others because it includes all fonts. There is an additional warning when you do that.
