[Install/Update] Updating desktop themes

Post by Michael Uplawski »

Why does updating desktop themes take such an enormous time during updates of the Office-suite?
Especially when “adding icons” appears to be the only action performed. During an ordinary update (apt update && apt upgrade), SoftMaker Office is the only package which brings the procedure to a downright halt, in order to “add icons”.

TIA

We just call a system script to update the icons and refresh the icon cache. This script takes however long it takes.

Okay. In this case I have to discuss the issue with other Linux users and experts to see, why there is a difference from installing other packages, native or other. It is evident that my observation is specific to SoftMaker Office.

TY.
