Exporting to pdf makes slides tiny

Greetings,

i am looking into being able to export my presentation for handouts. However, it seems that presentations always downsizes text regardless of number of slides per page, or whether i export a pdf. In effect, the text size is so small that it's impossible to read... Is there a workaround for this?
