Slick email client

Why not incorporate a lightweight, slick, SoftMaker email client (its an easy thing to build) and dump the ungainly and overly complex Thunderbird.

The Windows Live client that comes with Win 7 was actually quite good, excepting its calendar reminders, and was an exercise in simplicity and ease of use. Surely you could build a SoftMaker equivalent - simple email and calendar and you could share a common address book with the other apps (useful) via csv / dbf imports and exports. How about it? We have suffered enough with 3rd party add ons.
