Using shortcuts to call up an Ultralingua window and Textmaker

Post by AST »

The Ultralingua dictionary (thesaurus) app lets you define a shortcut to bring up a pop-up window when a word has been selected in the text. This works in applications like Mail, Textedit, etc. (but also MS Word, Libreoffice), or for that matter with text of this message in this browser window. In Textmaker however, the selection jumps from the one word to having everything selected in the document (be it a one page or fifty page document) and the dictionary doesn't show anything; instead it says "No entries found" (logically, because all text is selected instead of that one word). The same happens when selecting a word in a multi-word entry in a cell of a sheet in Planmaker, and when selecting a word in multi-word entry in an object in Presentations.
Is there a way to make third-party shortcuts like this one from Ultralinga work properly in SoftMaker Office?

Do they offer a free or trial version? I don't want to spend 50 dollars to try the program.
