Paragraph borders

Hi:

Using the latest update (64 bit) running under Windows 7 Professional.

I want to create a paragraph border for two single line paragraphs. Here is what I do and the result.

1. Paragraph| Borders
2. Select line style. I want single line, 0.5 point.
3. Select bottom of paragraph 1.
4. Select either page margins or paragraph indents (doesn't seem to matter)
5. Click OK
6. Repeat the above for paragraph 2.
7. Save the document (I save as docx)
8. Re-open document. The line styles have changed.

I cannot get the line styles to stick to the chosen one. I see double line, 3 point.

Any advice?

Does the style stay unchanged when you save as tmdx? If so, this could be a docx compatibility issue.

No. It exhibits the same behavior. The single 0.5 point lines become 3 point double lines.

I cannot reproduce this specific issue, but something is definitively fishy with the border function.
What I did:
1. Create a new document with two single line paragraphs.
2. Set the cursor somewhere in the first paragraph, go to Format > Paragraph..., tab "Borders", and set a single line border (0.5 pt black) at the bottom. Line is created and correct.
3. Set the cursor somewhere in the second paragraph, go to Format > Paragraph..., tab "Borders", and set a single line border (0.5 pt black) at the bottom. Line is created and line at the bottom of paragraph 1 vanishes.
I checked and re-checked that these are really separate paragraphs. Looks like a bug.

I think I found a clue to my specific problem, although I agree that paragraph borders are prone to problems.

In my case the document was originally created in MS Word and I was applying borders to it using TextMaker. I now see why this problem cannot be replicated in TextMaker alone. When I create such a document with TextMaker and edit only using TextMaker, then it works as it should. But since compatibility is emphasized, I think this should work.
