Bug report : quotation marks in French and Deutch (Swiss)

Dear TextMaker developpers,

I belive I found a bug with quotation marks in both French and Deutch (Swiss) language modes.

In TextMaker 2018 rev 944.1211, if you select one of these quotation marks format you get the « and » signs, which is fine. But in these modes, when you hit the ' key, you get the sign › instead. The sign › turns into the ' one if it is followed by a letter though.
This is an issue to me : the ' key should type a ' character.

Note that the ' behavior is okay in all the other quotation languages modes.

That was actually designed this way by intent. By continuing to type, you get what you want: either a closing guillemet or a single apostrophe.

Since not that many customers like this, we are currently changing it to the more "conventional" behavior you requested.

By the way, the quick menu to add special characters is really nice. It could be the right place to add the différent languages's quotation marks. This would allow the user of an English document to insert French quotation marks or inversely.
Or maybe, could that menu have an "add" button, to let the user choose more special characters from it ? It may behave like Unicode shortcuts...

1. I just saw that you posted this in the TextMaker 2016 forum. The change I was mentioning will only happen in the current version, 2018.

2. There is a similar dropdown, the "Insert Symbol" function. This can be configured by the user to show arbitrary symbols.

TextMaker just updates to rev 946.0211 and that weird behavior for quotation marks is still present. Did you forgot to change it to a more conventional way as promised ?
