Text to speech

Is there anyway, please, to get the MAC text to speech to work with Textmaker. All I can get it to do is read the file name. Open Office, LIbra Office et-al can all read the text highlighted but not Textmaker. Thanks in advance.

Text to speech on Mac is not yet supported. This is on the wish list for the future.
