Install SM 2018 alongside SM 2016 ?

I received SoftMaker's offer for the 2018 edition including the ribbon interface and default save to DOCX format.

Before I enter my credit-card details, I have a question: can I install SoftMaker Office for Linux 2018 alongside (not instead of) the 2016 version? And if so, is there anything special I need to do during installation?

Hi Joredor,

I'm not one of the engineers so take my comment with a grain of salt. I have had no trouble installing 2016 alongside 2018. No special preparations were needed. I write this based on my experience using 2016 and the Beta version of 2018, side by side, for the last couple months -- using LInux Mint and Kubuntu.

That said, another user may have had problems:

If there are problems, it's quite easy to uninstall and reinstall either or both. As for myself, I deleted 2016 once 2018 was finalized.
