Limit to file size?

Problems with a large presentation, which the reporting system will not send the file. The problem file was using up all disk 100% and 25% of CPU. The operation causing this was saving after making changes to transitions on slides which one has to do as one loses them on import. The presentation had been imported from pptx file with a lot of pictures. So basic issue is there is probably a limit on file size and that in itself then dependent on PC - this is a surface pro 4. Not much more can be done than to report it at this stage.
