It will take about 3 months to release a beta of the Pocket PC version. The port to Linux will be started after the final release for Pocket PCs. Currently we don't have a better release date for the Linux version.

If I purchase the academic version of SM2006 for Linux at the moment are there any plans to offer free/cheap upgrades to SM2008 when it arrives?

As the pricing of the academic version is already very low there are no real upgrades. The academic version costs less than the upgrade of the non-academic version.

We are still working on filters, but it will take some time to implement this new filter. There is no fixed release date yet.
